Yes, this venue has many rest spots. I appreciate they put stone edging on many trees as well as lots of benches. Every few steps you enter a different themed area with food and tables to sit and eat. I recommend getting there at the opening as more people arrive in the late afternoon and areas to sit get harder to find.

I think TRF is probly better than Scarborough mainly for the fact that it has 1st class shows and it seems like from the people I know that work at scarboro they say it's kind of gone downhill some of the shows art as 1st rate as they used to be. TRF is the biggest Renaissance festival in the nation and its where I would go if I hadn't been to any other fair! Scarborough is still a great fair but it isn't texas renaissance festival by no means!

The answer is, it depends. Yes food is expensive, but not as much as at professional ball games. Next is souvenirs. Everything from really cheap (less than $3) to the sky's the limit. They have excellent costuming you will find hard to get elsewhere. Edges weapons of all kind from cheap to high grade combat pieces. Unique items for home and yard decor. You have to appreciate that there are many fine craftsmen at both TRF and SC. My wife and I have never spent more than $100 each on food, shows, drinks, and trinkets. Of course I did see a Knights helmet and shirt of chain mail that I really wanted for everyday wear. It was only $1800. Somehow I didn't get out with it, but the wife did get some nice wind chimes to hang in one of the trees for about $40. By the way, the hotels in Magnolia have discount tickets to get into the place if you stay at their place. Saved us quite a bit. Also the free shuttle saved us a lot of walking.
