Elon Musk isn’t just dipping his toe into German politics; he is diving headfirst into the far-right end of it. The billionaire, who just completed the purchase of the US presidency last month, now has his sights set on another Western democracy.

Elon Musk backed Germany’s far-right Alternative for Deutschland party, known as the AfD, in an opinion piece published in a German newspaper on Saturday, wading deeper into international politics as the billionaire has become a fixture in Trump’s orbit.

In a guest column for the German newspaper Die Welt, Elon Musk has called on Germany to vote for the anti-immigration party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), calling it “the last flicker of hope for the country”.
