Chip giants Nvidia and AMD have agreed to pay the US government 15% of Chinese revenues as part of an "unprecedented" deal to secure export licences to China, the BBC has been told.

Nvidia and AMD agreed to share 15% of their revenues from chip sales to China with the U.S. government, a U.S. government official has confirmed.

Analysts said the deal to give some China revenue to the U.S. government is positive for both AMD and Nvidia as they get access to a huge market.
