Mehidy Hasan Miraz could not find a place in Bangladesh's 16-member squad for the Asia Cup but fellow all-rounder Saif Hassan and wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan have been picked for the Twenty20 competition in the United Arab Emirates next month.

Immediately after the completion of the Asia Cup, where the teams are grouped together, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will square off in a T20I series starting October 2. The second and third matches will be played on October 3rd and 5th. The ODI leg will then kickstart on October 8 with the second and third games scheduled on October 11 and 14.
