Efforts to rescue eight labourers trapped in a flooded coal mine in Assam’s Dima Hasao district are on as specialized navy divers work alongside the army and the National Disaster Response Force personnel.

The NDRF is working tirelessly at Dima Hasao coal mine to rescue 8 trapped miners, deploying pumps to remove water. Despite challenging conditions, one body has been recovered, and the search continues overnight with specialized divers and advanced equipment,

Dima Hasao (Assam): Assam Mines and Minerals Minister Kaushik Rai confirmed on Wednesday that so far only one body has been recovered from the mine, as teams from the Army and Navy work to rescue trapped miners. Efforts are underway to dewater the mine to determine the number of people trapped inside.
