London and Brussels have agreed a post-Brexit reset of relations that Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer claimed would be worth £9bn to the UK, but he faced immediate claims he had “surrendered” by agreeing to keep British fishing grounds open to EU boats for 12 more years.

The deal contains political risk for Britain's Keir Starmer as it touches on sensitive issues including fishing rights, and many of the agreements will require further negotiation.

The UK and the EU have struck a deal that covers fishing, trade, defence, energy and strengthening ties in a number of policy areas still up for negotiation.
