The names of the 2024-25 Stanley Cup champions were engraved on the trophy earlier this week. A picture posted to social media shows 52 members of the Panthers ownership, staff and team were added to the trophy.

A Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers revealed in breaking news that, despite the franchise’s needs, he wants to stay and play alongside Brad Marchand, Sam Bennett, and Matthew Tkachuk in the 2025-26 NHL season.

The two-time reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers take on the Chicago Blackhawks in an opening night triple-header to launch the 2025 NHL regular-season, the league announced Monday.

Aleksander Barkov is the first name among the players and is marked with ‘CAPT’ as the team’s captain. His teammates are then listed in alphabetical order, from Uvis Balinskis down to Carter Verhaeghe. Of the 24 players etched into the Cup, 14 also had a place on the roster from the 2023-24 champions.

“What I've seen from my time in South Florida is they care a ton, so much about hockey, more than I could have ever pictured,” Tkachuk said of Panthers fans. “I've love playing there. It's been the time of my life, the best thing that's happened to me in my hockey career, and I’m looking forward to hopefully another (Stanley Cup).”
