Lewis Hamilton has returned to testing duties for Ferrari in a Pirelli tyre test at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

Ferrari and McLaren have been testing tyres for Pirelli for the 2026 season, and the opening day saw Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in action on behalf of Ferrari. On the Spanish track, the seven-time world champion was just slightly quicker than the Monegasque.

On the first day of Pirelli tyre testing, Lewis Hamilton set a faster time of 1:15.93 while Leclerc clocked a 1:16.060, but apart from those two figures, not much else has emerged:

The incident happened during a three-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the team’s 2023 F1 car.

Lewis Hamilton has reportedly beaten his team-mate Charles Leclerc ’s test times, during their outing with Ferrari at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The new team-mates underwent their first official test days in Barcelona last week, where they took to the track in the SF-23 as part of Formula 1's Testing of Previous Car" (TPC) rules.

It seems as though Lewis Hamilton might still be figuring out his footing at Ferrari's testing days. At least, based on the fact that the seven-time Formula 1 champion crashed during his second test day with the team, while testing in Spain.
