BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Thursday apologised after a phone conversation between her and former Cambodian Prime Minster Hun Sen was leaked. Paetongtarn said the call was made from her personal phone and she did not know the conversation would be recorded and made public.

Thailand’s prime minister blamed her own military for escalating a border dispute with Cambodia, according to a leaked audio recording, sparking fresh political turmoil in the country as opposition groups called on her to resign.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra says she will not have any more personal conversations with Hun Sen after the leak of a phone call in which she is heard calling a regional Thai army commander an “opponent” and agreeing to do what the former Cambodian prime minister asked.
