Scottie Scheffler has become a machine on the PGA Tour. The Texan, who won his second consecutive Memorial Tournament, is dominating the competition.

Rory McIlroy will doubtless face a journalistic inquisition in Canada this week concerning the controversies at the recent US PGA and his failure to tell Jack Nicklaus he was skipping his Memorial event.

With a slightly imperfect but largely perfunctory two-under 70, Scheffler successfully defended his title in the Memorial Tournament Sunday with a four-stroke victory over Griffin. Four sub-par rounds added to 10-under 278 and the ninth straight time he has converted a 54-hole outright lead to a victory.
