'I was just scared': Man at center of viral Jacksonville traffic stop speaks publicly for first time
William McNeil Jr. spoke for the first time, detailing what was going through his mind when an officer smashed his window and punched him.
William McNeil, Jr., the Florida man whose violent arrest by Jacksonville sheriff’s deputies was caught in a viral video, is set to speak out on Wednesday morning.
A Florida man whose video of being punched by officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office went viral on social media has hired civil rights attorneys Harry Daniels and Ben Crump.
The report of the now-viral incident said the man was reaching for a "large knife" as police removed him, and does not mention hitting him in the car.
An unidentified officer was seen smashing the driver's window open with his elbow and demanding for McNeil to exit the vehicle - right before punching him in the face while his hands were in his lap.
