CBS News Chicago recently profiled Fauske, the Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year. He was coached by Hall of Famer Jim Thome and grew up a Sox fan.

After picking Billy Carlson out of Corona High School in California in the first round of the MLB Draft, the White Sox went in their own backyard to nab Nazareth Academy’s Jaden Fauske in the second round.

With their second round pick (No. 44 overall), the White Sox selected outfielder-catcher Jaden Fauske from Nazareth Academy (Ill.). The 6´3´´, 220-pound prep has experience behind the plate as well, but is expected to be an outfielder first.
