According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hines believes his knee has fully healed and is looking to sign with a team in time for training camp. He reportedly visited the Houston Texans earlier this spring, and interest could grow if his health checks out.

After his jet ski accident during the offseason, the Bills placed Hines on the reserve/non-football injury list for the 2023 season and released him a year later. He signed with the Cleveland Browns in March 2024 but didn't appear in a game during the season. The Browns released him in February.

It’s been two seasons since Nyheim Hines last played in an NFL game. The 28-year-old running back last played on Jan. 22, 2022, in the Buffalo Bills’ 27-10 divisional round playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
