At just 18 years old, Flagg was named the National Player of the Year in men's college basketball. The forward came into the NCAA as a defensive standout, but steadily built up an offensive game that looks like it'll translate smoothly into the NBA, where he'll see a bit more space on the court.

Five players from Alabama colleges are considered possibilities for the first round – Alabama guards Labaron Philon and Mark Sears, Auburn forward Johni Broome and guard Tahaad Pettiford and UAB forward Yaxel Lendeborg. All five are attending the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago this week, as is Alabama forward Grant Nelson.

The Rockets have a 3.80 percent shot at the top selection thanks to a pick acquired from the Phoenix Suns. That's similar to the odds the Atlanta Hawks had before winning the 2024 NBA draft.
