Shots were fired at a West Bloomfield Township synagogue Thursday afternoon after a vehicle rammed into the building's front door, prompting nearby schools to shelter in place and emergency officials to warn residents to avoid the area.

Police were called to a Jewish temple in West Bloomfield after a truck crashed into the building and shots were fired.

One suspect was found dead in his vehicle after he rammed it into a synagogue. One security guard was injured at the scene. There are no other reported injuries.
