United Airlines said on Sunday it expects to begin testing Elon Musk's Starlink in February for in-flight internet services, and to first offer the connectivity on a commercial flight operated by Embraer E-175 aircraft this spring.

The first commercial United flight with Starlink satellite connectivity will take off this spring. The carrier will eventually offer free access to all flyers.

The United partnership highlights how Musk's companies are making inroads into traditionally non-tech industries.
