The Avalanche beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime at Ball Arena on Tuesday. Parker Kelly, Artturi Lehkonen, and Devon Toews scored for Colorado, while Mackenzie Blackwood was outstanding in net, stopping 27 of the 29 shots he faced.

Falling just short, 3-2 in overtime, to a strong Avalanche team Tuesday night at Ball Arena, the Rangers felt like they had the game in hand for 58 minutes before Colorado forced overtime with a late score in the third period and ultimately won on a goal from Devon Toews in the extra period.

Devon Toews scored 4:23 into overtime after Artturi Lehkonen tied the game late in regulation, and the Colorado Avalanche began a five-game homestand with a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers.
