Macaulay Culkin paid tribute to his iconic on-screen mother, Catherine O’Hara, following her death on Friday. O’Hara, 71, starred as the mother of Culkin’s Kevin McCallister in the classic 1990s film series,
Candy continued to act after Home Alone, appearing in Only the Lonely (1991), JFK (1991), Once Upon a Crime... (1992), and Cool Runnings (1993). The beloved star made one of his final appearances in 1994's Wagons East before he died that same year at the age of 43. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Hobor, and their two children.
Following Home Alone, Heard was cast in Awakenings (1990), Gladiator (1992), The Pelican Brief (1993), White Chicks (2004) and more. He was also a series regular on shows such as The Client, Prison Break and The Sopranos, for which he received an Emmy nomination in 1999 for his guest role as Detective Vin Makazian.
TMZ was the first to report the news, and her manager confirmed the news to PEOPLE on Friday. The cause of death was not revealed. Variety reports O’Hara died at her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness.
