We now know when the next two College Football Playoffs will occur

Fans have been criticizing the College Football Playoff schedule for the past few years. That being said, the outrage surrounding the schedule is about to get much worse. The biggest complaint regarding the CFP schedule is that it finishes way too late.

The College Football Playoff released its schedule for the next two postseason runs on Tuesday, laying out when and where the quarterfinals and semifinals will go down. The CFP Management Committee already locked in the 12-team format for 2026-27,

The College Football Playoff will keep a 12-team format through 2026–27, shift key dates to avoid NFL conflicts, grant the Rose Bowl its Jan. 1 slot, and expand the gap between quarterfinals and semifinals to two weeks.

The College Football Playoff has announced the quarterfinal and semifinal dates and locations for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The Rose Bowl has lobbied to keep its traditional Jan. 1 date and time slot while remaining part of the six-bowl rotation.
