Gov. Mike DeWine has declared a state of emergency across the state of Ohio amid severe winter weather that is expected to impact the region throughout the weekend.
According to forecast maps from The Weather Channel, Winter Storm Fern is expected to bring heavy snowfall to Ohio. The storm will bring ice, including a mix of snow and ice, in states south of Ohio. Winter Storm Fern may continue to bring snow in parts of the Northeast, especially New England, on Monday.
Southwest Ohio will see unseasonably cold return this weekend, as well as accumulating snow as a major winter storm moves through the southern and eastern U.S.
The National Weather Service reports extended cold, with possible rain, snow, and strong winds in Columbus and Cincinnati.
