President Donald Trump's former prison chief is sounding the alarm on Florida’s new migrant detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz,” warning the facility is unsafe and logistically unworkable.

"Alligator Alcatraz" is the nickname for a planned temporary immigrant detention center in the Florida Everglades. President Trump is visiting July 1.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would like to see facilities like the new so-called "Alligator Alcatraz" migrant detention center in Florida 's Everglades in other states. "Well, I think would like to see them in many states. Really, many states," the president said. "And, you know, at some point, they might morph into a system."
