New York City remains under a heat advisory Thursday, as high temperatures hit the 90s and feel more like triple digits. The National Weather Service allowed Wednesday's heat advisory to remain in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday. It's another First Alert Weather Day as we monitor the dangerous heat and humidity around the area.

Forget about any worries of tropical weather today. Instead pay attention to the heat: temperatures in Jacksonville could feel as high as 113 degrees.

Lehigh and Northampton counties, as well as neighboring Bucks and Berks counties, will be under a heat advisory from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. In the Lehigh Valley, a high of 92 is expected, but forecasters said it will feel closer to 102.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 4 and 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 102. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

A flood watch has also been issued in Washington, D.C., while the Midwest also has the potential for flooding.
