The minimum wage in New York City, Long Island and Westchester County ticked $1 higher, from $15 to $16. In the remainder of New York State, the new minimum wage is $15, up from $14.20.
Those increases will bring the minimum wage to $17 in the New York City area and $16 an hour in Upstate New York, up about 12.7% from the current level in the region.
