Tesla is trying to expand its robotaxi service, which so far is only being tested in Austin, Texas, to additional markets.

This suit has been brewing for some time. The state DMV started investigating Tesla for possible misleading advertising in 2021 and then sent an official inquiry to the automaker roughly a year later.

Tesla’s new registrations in California fell 21.1 percent in the second quarter. Still, the Model Y and Model 3 remain California’s best-selling electric vehicles. Honda Prologue and Mustang Mach-E are gaining traction in the Golden State.

On an event page for a "Tesla Diner SoCal Protest," the organizer, Tesla Takedown, points to Musk's handling of X, saying it boosts conspiracy theories and extremist views. The page also calls out Tesla's Full Self-Driving feature as "fraud."

The Tesla Supercharger Diner opened Monday in West Hollywood  and Elon Musk is already teasing a Texas expansion.
