A new women's basketball league is prepared to launch in May 2026, opening up more opportunities for college players outside of the WNBA.

Wisconsin pulled off the upset by shutting down MSU's and head coach Robyn Fralick's fast-paced offense. Michigan State entered the game averaging 96.4 points per game; the Spartans' 64 points are the fewest this season.

Iowa and Iowa State each saw their names listed when Monday's AP Top 25 poll was revealed. Iowa State came in at No. 10, identical to last week's ranking. Iowa is No. 11, moving up one spot. Both teams are unbeaten. That sets the stage for a massive game this week at Hilton Coliseum (6 p.m. on ESPN).

Sunday’s ceremony placed Bird among a select group of UConn greats. She became just the third women’s player to have her number retired, joining Rebecca Lobo and Swin Cash. Maya Moore, already inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame, is expected to be added in the future, along with longtime backcourt partner Diana Taurasi.

The Tigers have won the past three meetings against the Scarlet Knights, each by double digits. The most recent meeting was last season in Piscataway, when Rutgers lost 66-49, while the Knights fell 66-55 in their last visit to Jadwin Gymnasium. This year may not be any easier, as Princeton is off to a 9-1 start to its season.

The LSU women’s basketball team climbed back over the 100-point threshold on Sunday in the Lakefront Arena, notching its season-high point total in a 126-62 drubbing of UNO. The No. 5 Tigers (10-0) scored that many points because they turned defense into easy offense.
