The Chicago Cubs made waves late last week with their reported interest in trading for former Houston Astros closer Ryan Pressly. The deal, however, dragged on as Pressly pondered on whether he’d wave the full no trade clause in his contract to allow the deal to happen.

The trade will send Pressly and $5.5 million in cash to the Cubs in exchange for right-handed pitcher Juan Bello, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Pressly, who has one year left on his contract, is owed $14.0 million this year, but Houston is sending $5.5 million over in the trade, so Chicago will be responsible for the remaining $8.5 million.
