Rex Ryan did not get the New York Jets head coach position. Aaron Glenn did. The former Jets head coach was part of the equation, though. Ryan was interviewed and openly advocated for wanting his old job back.

Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who overlapped with Ryan in New York for a few years, helped the team with their head coach hunt this offseason. Speaking on ESPN Radio last week, he recalled telling Ryan that he would not be getting the job.

The Jets enter 2025 with a number of questions but with a new head coach looking to build a new culture, one trade could make a difference.
