The Belgian international ended his ten year stay in Manchester at the end of last season as he signed for Italian champions Napoli on a free transfer. De Bruyne was officially unveiled as a Napoli player on Saturday and broke his silence on why he didn’t sign for another Premier League club.

Manchester City decided against offering Kevin De Bruyne a new contract and after considering staying in the Premier League he eventually signed for Napoli.

Among players who started more than 10 top-flight matches across the 2024–25 campaign, De Bruyne recorded the best ratio for expected assists and chances created. Only Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard averaged more open-play passes into the penalty area than his veteran counterpart last term.
