New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on Monday asked President Donald Trump to reexamine the federal government's approval of New York City's first-in-the-nation congestion pricing program that began on Jan.

According to the New York Post, Murphy has launched a billboard campaign promoting a $20 million initiative to reward New York companies that let employees work in New Jersey, bypassing the $9 congestion toll.

In a letter to Trump, Murphy urged the president to "re-examine" congestion pricing, claiming that it was never "well-designed or adequately studied."

The plan, which launched on Jan. 5, newly charges passenger vehicles $9 to access Manhattan below 60th Street during peak hours.
