Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late on Friday, January 10 after district officials re-evaluated the road and sidewalk conditions.

South River’s Jaden McDuffie and St. Mary’s Bailey Harris are the top boys and girls high school basketball scorers so far this season.

With snow still covering some local roads, Anne Arundel County Public Schools announced its plans for Wednesday classes.

Adrian Leisk, head of road safety at Devon and Cornwall Police, advised commuters to slow down, while Paul Beecher, from National Highways, asked people to carefully consider their travel plans. Some school and colleges in both counties have closed on Thursday as temperatures dropped to -7C in Devon overnight.

Some Maryland schools still dealing with messy road conditions caused by this week's winter storm will be closed or delayed on Thursday, January 9.

School districts across metro Atlanta and north Georgia are closely monitoring the potential for snow and ice on Friday.
