The Colorado Rockies have found that their 42nd win is quite elusive as offensive rallies have fallen short against teh Miami Marlins in the first two games of the series. Walks by the pitching staff spelled doom on Wednesday night, leaving the Rockies to hope for clearer skies in the series finale.
After Thursday's loss, the Rockies have allowed 978 runs on the season, which is the fourth most since 1962, according to Statmuse. The franchise record was set in 1999, though, when they allowed 1,028. They lost 90 games that season.

Colorado (41-110) dropped game one on Tuesday night 6-5 when a rally after a rain delay fell just short when Hunter Goodman lined out with the tying run on third base. Miami (71-80) shut out the Rockies and held them to two hits through seven innings before the offense finally showed signs of life.
