Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and others injured in southeast Atlanta on Thursday night.

Aaron Hines, affectionately known as "Coach Ball," was a beloved youth football coach and father figure in the West Atlanta community.

According to Atlanta Police, Tavaris Williams was accused of shooting and killing an unidentified man at a Shell gas station on Memorial Drive at around 1 p.m.

He was a beloved figure, serving as a coach for the Georgia Rattlers football team and a father figure to many children. Lolitha Perry, a parent, told Channel 2’s Tom Jones that Hines taught kids about life on and off the field at Washington Park.

Two individuals were injured in a shooting in Atlanta and were later found at Grady Memorial Hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
