Augusta Battalion Chief Jason Farris said the odds were astronomical that a misfired firework could ignite an asphalt roof that was covered by a metal roof.

The odds of that happening are slim to none,' Jason Farris, battalion chief at the Augusta Fire Department, said Monday.
