One of the Boston Celtics’ newest additions to their roster Hugo González has not impressed NBA insider John Hollinger in his Summer League games with the organization.
Both squads played with makeshift rosters in their final Summer League contest, and the Celtics definitely looked like the more invested team throughout all four quarters. Boston already owned a 27-20 lead after one, which was also the only quarter where Atlanta was ahead, albeit by a mere two points.
Going into next season, Boston doesn’t exactly have any hopes of contending for a title. With Jayson Tatum set to miss the entire year, the Celtics can essentially start looking toward the 2026-27 season while still hoping to make the playoffs next season.
JD Davison had a heck of a season in the G League, but the Celtics waived the guard to dip back under the NBA's second apron.
LAS VEGAS – Jordan Walsh delivered 17 points to lead the Boston Celtics to an 87-78 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Thursday evening.
Just before Summer League got underway, the Boston Celtics brought in big man Charles Bassey. This proved to be a smart decision, as he shined for them in Las Vegas. Across the three games he appeared in, Bassey averaged 15.3 PPG, 11.0 RPG, and an impressive 2.0 BPG.
Since bowing out in the second round of the playoffs to the New York Knicks, a lot has changed for the Celtics. Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Luke Kornet are all on different teams. Al Horford is unlikely to return, and Jayson Tatum will miss all of next season due to a torn achilles.
