India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day with a colorful parade displaying its military might and cultural diversity at a ceremony on a boulevard in the heart of country’s capital.

The celebration parade will have the newly-elected Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, as the Chief Guest.

President Droupadi Murmu to lead the nation in celebrating the 76th Republic Day from Kartavya Path. The ceremony will see 31 Tableaux and a cultural performance by 5,000 artists.

India was declared a sovereign republic by the country's first Governor-General, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari on January 26, 1950, at 10:18 AM.
