In January, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his Achilles for the second time in 12 weeks, leaving his playing status for 2025 looking bleak. The former first-rounder could miss the entire 2025 season, but the team says right now, nothing is definite either way.

Cleveland has also made multiple short-term additions to potentially replace Watson in 2025. The Browns acquired former first-round pick Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 12, sending Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a fifth-round draft choice in return.

The Browns have acknowledged that the decision to trade for quarterback Deshaun Watson was a big miss, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's done playing in Cleveland.
