A HUGE 5.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Greece and Turkey killing one person and leaving fearful locals jumping off buildings. The quake struck just after 2am local time this morning (12am BST)

A moderately strong, 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck in Turkey on Tuesday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor happened at 2:17 a.m. Eastern European time about 3 miles south of İçmeler, Turkey, data from the agency shows.

People were jolted awake when a 5.8 magnitude quake shook the Turkish coastal town of Marmaris, around 40km north of the Greek holiday island of Rhodes around 2.17am Monday.
