Jason Chen was found guilty of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse after just one hour of deliberation by a Tennessee jury.

A Criminal Court jury on Tuesday was deciding whether Jason Chen should get life in prison or life in prison without the possibility of parole. Life in prison in Tennessee requires serving 51 full calendar years before there can be parole eligibility.

Chen is accused of stabbing Pace over 60 times, dismembering her and leaving the 22-year-old's body in a suitcase along the banks of the Tennessee River in November 2022. The two began dating in 2021 and rekindled their relationship the following year.
