Michael Pezzetta is living his childhood dream. Several hours after signing a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs carrying a $812,500 annual average value, the 27-year-old Toronto, Ontario native sat in his childhood room at his parents' house thinking, "How crazy is this?"

The Bruins have signed former Maple Leafs center Alex Steeves to a one-year, $885,000 deal, according to multiple reports. A depth piece for Toronto, the 25-year-old Steeves has appeared in 14 games over the past four seasons, scoring a goal and adding two assists.

The Maple Leafs have signed free agent forward Michael Pezzetta to a two-year contract with an AAV of $775,000, league sources told The Athletic’s Chris Johnston. The depth forward was a sixth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2016 and has spent most of the past four seasons in Montreal.
