Severe storms are expected to erupt across a wide swath of Texas late Monday — from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to East Texas.

PALO PINTO COUNTY, Texas - Storm damages in the western part of our area has caused two school districts to close in Palo Pinto County. Some of the hardest hit areas were about 65 miles west of Fort Worth in Palo Pinto County. The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touchdown.

While heat continues to grip Texas, a threat of thunderstorms, large hail and damaging winds continues into the week for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The National Weather Service encourages people to have multiple ways of being warned, which can include weather radios, a cellphone app or other methods

At 8:26 p.m. on Sunday, the NWS Fort Worth TX released an updated tornado warning in effect until 9:15 p.m. The warning is for Hood, Parker and Palo Pinto counties.
