Colorado has released another wave of wolves in a program mandated by voters in 2020. Fifteen wolves were moved from central British Columbia to Colorado's Western Slope, where the releases are mandated.

CPW has released 15 new gray wolves on the landscape — as well as the five wolves of the previously captured Copper Creek Pack — as the state continues the voter-mandated reintroduction effort.

This week, more wolves were released in Colorado as part of an initiative to reintroduce the species to the state. The gray wolf has been endangered in the United States for many years, and recent poaching and habitat loss have further diminished their numbers.
