This bird family just got a little bigger! Three spur-winged plover chicks hatched in early June at the Zoo. In their early life, they rely heavily on their mom and dad for food and shelter. In the video, the parents “squat” down, like a chicken, and the chicks go underneath their bellies. This process is called brooding.
