A fatal shooting in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood ended a 38-day streak of no homicides in the city. City data shows Seattle is on track to see a significant drop in homicides this year, 2025. So far this year, there have been 27 homicides. In 2024, there were over 60, and in 2023, there were more than 70. "The data is telling us that homicides are decreasing, violent crime is decreasing, shots fired in the city are decreasing," Police Chief Shon Barnes told KOMO News. Full story on KOMOne
