Fancy taking a closer look at the wonderful carved doorway at Huntly Castle? This amazing artwork – known as a frontispiece – was added to the castle around 1600. It was intended to impress those crossing the palace threshold, and we reckon they nailed it! These carvings were once brightly painted, with gilded details which glistened in the sunlight.
