Uxelodunum was the largest fort on Hadrian's Wall. Unfortunately, it is completely buried beneath the suburb of Stanwix in Carlisle, Cumbria, England. This small "remnant" comprises stone from the north wall of the fort and has been rebuilt. It is in the reception of the Cumbria Park Hotel, a stone's throw from the site of Uxelodunum, whose remains lie buried under the car park outside. | International Man of History
