From farmland to a diverse forest 🌲⁠ ⁠ The landscaping of Kentuck Knob has significantly changed during the Hagans residence and continues with the Palumbos stewardship of the grounds. ⁠ ⁠ When the Hagans bought the land when it was mostly farmland with very little in the way of large trees which was damaged by a chestnut blight that swept the region of native trees. ⁠ ⁠ As the house was built over 8,000 seedlings were purchased of 7 different varieties including poplar, oak, hickory, hemlock.
