Gourang Chakraborty better known by his stage name Mithun Chakraborty was born on 16 June 1950. He was educated at the Scottish Church College in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, where he earned his degree in Chemistry. After that, he attended and graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
