It’s actually not hard to do a good job when you care. Doing poor work with Black communities is all about refusal. There are books. There is research. There is history. There are frameworks. There are people who have been saying this clearly for decades. If your work on Black mental health ignores racism, misogynoir, tone policing, food apartheid, police violence, or racial identity development, you are not being neutral. You are being negligent. Care requires context. Anything less is a choice
