NYC Second Avenue subway part of effort to revitalize transit
The long-awaited Second Avenue subway, first imagined nearly a century ago, is finally open. The $4.5 billion project is expected to help hundreds of thousands of daily commuters travel faster across the congested city. Tony Dokoupil reports.

🚇 Transit advocates praised Gov. Kathy Hochul’s plan, unveiled at her State of the State address on Tuesday, to build out the Q line into Harlem and Morningside Heights in a major subway expansion. The plan would extend the Q line from its current terminus at East 96th Street and Second Avenue in East Harlem up to East 125th Street and Lexington Avenue.
