Is this the saddest rock song ever? 💔👇🏽 Nutshell by Alice In Chains is one of the most emotionally devastating songs in rock. When it comes on—especially during a quiet, late-night drive—it hits like a punch to the chest. Layne Staley’s voice feels fragile, like he’s barely holding it together, and the lyrics are brutally honest. It’s a song about loneliness, pain, and the struggle to keep going when everything feels heavy. No screaming, no solos—just raw, stripped-back emotion. It’s haunting
